SUMMIT, NJ — Meet Sawyer King! He has been chosen as Summit Patch's Pet Of The Week.

"I would like to take a moment to introduce you to Sawyer King. He is a 38 lb, 11 year old Boston Terrier who my wife and I adopted in March. He belonged to my mother-in-law, but when she could no longer take care of him, my brother-in-law drove him across country from Irvine, California to live with us in our new house in Summit.

Being a Southern California dog, he was quickly introduced to snow with a slew of storms end of March/early April, and has also had to adjust to frequent rain and humidity, taking it all in stride. Despite being 11, he is full of energy and loves long walks around Tatlock Park, playing tug-of-war in his new basement and tanning himself out in the sun as he pretends he is back in his birthplace.

While my wife, Nancy, has known and loved Sawyer since he was a puppy, I immediately fell in love with him when he made us a family of three in March. Sawyer can typically be located up and down Canoe Brook Parkway, or at the close-by Magic Fountain looking for patrons to pet him while begging for ice cream."
