Scholastic Book Fair at Berkeley Heights YMCA

Summertime is the perfect time to unwind with a good book! Especially for children, reading or being read to during the summer months is a great way to keep language skills sharp while out of school and prevent the dreaded "Summer Slide." The Berkeley Heights YMCA will be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair featuring a large assortment of books for children ages preschool through eighth grade.

WHEN: Monday July 15th - Thursday July 18th
TIME: 2:00PM-5:00PM (Tuesday, July 16, we will close early at 4:45PM)
WHERE: Berkeley Heights YMCA, Child Care Center, 550 Springfield Avenue, Berkeley Heights
COST: Free and open to the public

Can't make it in person? Visit Scholastic Online, and Scholastic will give back 25% in rewards to the Berkeley Heights YMCA from July 10th- July 23rd.

Tips for encouraging children to read:
- Find books of special interest to them or take them to a library/bookstore and have them choose their own books.
- Provide special incentives for completing a book or even a chapter.
- Designate a special time during the day for family reading time where everyone reads together.
