Summit 2021 Summer Camp Guide

Here's a list of summer camps for kids happening around Summit this year.

SUMMIT, NJ — After a year when too many traditions have had to be canceled for coronavirus safety, summer camps for kids are back on this year. The state has issued updated guidance on how these camps can safely operate during the coronavirus pandemic here.

There are several options to keep the kids busy this summer around Hoboken, including arts camps, sports camps, school-sponsored camps, camps run by your day care, and more.

Summit Area YMCA camps: The Summit Area Y has more than 40 themed camps split into various age groups. "Summer camps at the Summit Area YMCA provide children ages 3 years to 14 years with safe and exciting opportunities to explore, learn, create and discover the world around them," says the website. It's located at 67 Maple St. Find out more here.

Kent Place Summer Camp: makes use of a 26-acre campus with five tennis courts, a dining hall, an arts center, and computer labs. It's a coeducational, state-licensed, day camp program for boys and girls, ages 3 through 15 years old, providing fun, enrichment and opportunities for physical and social development in a safe, non-competitive atmosphere. Campers are well supervised by a qualified and caring staff of program directors, teachers and experienced counselors. It's located at 42 Norwood Ave. Learn more and register here.

Oak Knoll School Summer Camps: Oak Knoll School in Summit has a day camp, mini camps, and a kindergarten-ready program in summer. Find out more about summer programs here.

Summer Camp At The Arts Center: There are various camps for all ages at the Visual Arts School in New Jersey. "Last summer, our wildly successful summer camp safely served more than 800 campers and had zero reported cases of COVID-19," they note. "This summer, we will build upon that experience to ensure a safe, creative, and most importantly, fun, in-person camp experience."
