Summit Barber, Berkeley Heights Firefighter Dies At 84
Joseph Cerulli, 84, was a volunteer firefighter in Berkeley Heights for 50 years and a veteran of the United States Navy.

SUMMIT, NJ — Former Captain and past President of the Berkeley Heights Fire Department Joseph Cerulli, 84, died peacefully Tuesday, Dec. 5 at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home, Menlo Park.
Cerulli was born in Summit to Helen (nee Vincenzese) and Joseph Cerulli, Sr. He was a longtime resident of Berkeley Heights and a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. He was employed at Runnells Specialized Hospital for many years and as a barber in Summit until his retirement.
He was a volunteer firefighter in Berkeley Heights for 50 years, a member of the Mt. Carmel Society and American Legion in Berkeley Heights.

Cerulli was predeceased by his beloved wife Joy, his son Philip and his brother James. He is survived by his sister Madeline Lagante and many loving family members.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Teresa’s Cemetery, Summit.
