Summit To Host 4th Annual Hometown Heroes Program
Enrollment is now open for the 2021 Hometown Heroes program, officials announced Monday.
SUMMIT, NJ – Enrollment is now open for the 2021 Hometown Heroes program, officials announced Monday.
This is the fourth year the city will hold the program, which displays banners with the names, images and dates of service of active military and veterans on city streets from mid-May through mid-August.
The program will include a total of 250 honorees. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. The deadline is mach 31.

Eligibility includes those who are serving or who have served in the Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines or Navy. Members of the Merchant Marine and Women Airforce Service Pilots in World War II are also invited to apply.
Applicants must have lived in Summit at any time in the past or present or are currently or were previously employed by the City of Summit. They may also be current or former volunteers in the Summit EMS, Police Auxiliary and Volunteer Fire Division.
