Summit HS Grad Accepted To Prestigious String Orchestra Seminar
The New York String Orchestra Seminar is one of the nation's most influential professional training programs.

SUMMIT, NJ — Marcus Stevenson, a 2018 Summit High School graduate and current sophomore at The Cleveland Institute of Music, was one of 64 students selected to the New York String Orchestra Seminar, one of the nation's first and most influential professional training programs. The program is celebrating its 50th anniversary and scheduled two performances at Carnegie Hall in New York City this month: Dec. 24 and Dec. 28.
Stevenson played in the Summit High School Orchestra under the direction of longtime conductor Barbara Vierschilling. Marcus also attended the Julliard MAP program, Manhattan School of Music pre-college, and was a member of the New Jersey Youth Symphony and violist for the string quartet.
