Summit Musicians Make Regional Bands

Five student were selected for the Central Jersey Music Educators Association Jr. Regional Bands.

SUMMIT, NJ - Five Summit students from Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School were selected for the Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA) Jr. Regional Bands.

Eighth grader John Cho placed 1st trombone, making him the top trombonist in the region. Eighth grader Brian Axtell and eighth grader James Ritter placed 2nd and 3rd trumpet respectively. Eighth grader Ian Ritter and seventh grader Jamie Eck also placed high on clarinet, gaining them spots in the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band.
All five students will perform in a concert in March with the best middle school instrumentalists in the region!
"We are so proud," said Rebecca Hoffler, Instrumental Music Teacher at Lawton C. Johnson Summit Middle School.
