Now that the weather is getting nice, what better way to enjoy it than eating outside at one of Summit's local restaurants?

SUMMIT, NJ — Looking for the best restaurants in Summit to enjoy a good meal outside? Luckily there are plenty of options, whether it's a casual dinner for two, brunch with the family, or just a quick bite by yourself.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, outdoor dining has been expanding — even during the colder months. Many eateries got creative during the winter, setting up indoor dining tents and even igloos.

But the days of needing shelter from the cold are waning, setting up the chance for even more opportunities to eat al fresco in the coming months.

  • Summit House, 395 Springfield Ave. From ribeye steak to seafood to cocktails, it's worth checking out.
  • Piattino, 67 Union Place, the neighborhood bistro encourages reservations.
  • The Hat Tavern, 570 Springfield Ave. See their special menu, complete with campfire s'more lava cake, here.
  • Huntley Taverne, 3 Morris Ave., serves up seasonal American dishes.
  • Fiorino, 38 Maple St., specializes in classic Northern Italian fare and is one of many bright spots in downtown Summit.
