Summit Pool To Reopen July 1; Day Camp Will Use Pool Too
Everybody into the pool! With social distancing, that is. The Summit aquatic center reopens in July, with coronavirus restrictions.
SUMMIT, NJ — Everybody into the pool! With social distancing amid coronavirus, that is.
The Summit Department of Community Programs announced Friday that opening day for its Summit Family Aquatic Center 2020 season will be on Wednesday, July 1. Registration for seasonal membership is open online.
For two hours a day on weekdays, the recreation camp will use the pool (more details below).

Due to ongoing coronavirus outbreak restrictions regarding pools in New Jersey, capacity will be reduced by 50 percent each day to 600 attendees maximum. Tables will be available, but chairs will not. Members are invited to bring a chair of their own. The facility/swimming pool will be open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., and from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends. There are other hours for lap swim.
The main pool will be open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. weekdays for the recreation summer camp only. (For summer camp details, click here.)
Members will have access to the main pool from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the leisure pool from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays. For both pools, weekend hours are from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The annual resident membership rate for families is $395, $160 for individuals, and $70 for senior citizens. Non- resident memberships for families are $790, $320 for individuals and $160 for senior citizens.
The Summit Family Aquatic Center is located at 100 Ashwood Ave. The award-winning facility has been recognized for its design and programming by the New Jersey Recreation and Parks Association and by Aquatics International.
