Selvin, a senior at Summit High School, constructed a radio telescope in the science elective course "Design Projects in Science and Engineering".
The telescope structure and electronics were funded with a PTO grant. The telescope looks for radio waves at 1420.4 MHz, the strongest signals coming from the center of the Milky Way. Selvin hopes to determine a velocity curve for our galaxy, and measure Earth's velocity through space.
