SUMMIT, NJ— The first day of school in Summit is September 4th — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Summit School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.
The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

- 9/10: Rosh Hashanah, Schools Closed, Offices Open
- 9/19: Yom Kippur, Schools Closed, Offices Open
October
- 10/8: Prof. Development, Staff Only
- 10/29: Single Session All Grades
November
- 11/5, 11/7: Single Session (k-5 only)
- 11/6: Election Day No School
