Summit Schools Go Remote Thursday Due To Snow

The National Weather Service issued an advisory for Thursday morning and predicts more snow next week.

SUMMIT, NJ — The Summit schools went remote Thursday morning due to an overnight snowfall.

"Due to inclement weather, Summit Public Schools will be implementing full remote instruction for today, February 11, 2021," said the announcement around 6 a.m.

Snow was still on the ground this week from Sunday, when more than five inches of snow fell on Union County, and more is predicted for the rest of the week.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the area through 10 a.m. Thursday, with 2 to 3 inches predicted. They also say some sleet and snow are possible Saturday and Sunday.
