Summit Unveils Achievement Award at Memorial Day Celebration

As part of its annual parade and celebration, Summit recognized one of its own for his outstanding commitment.

As part of its annual Memorial Day celebration, Summit officials and participating students honored veterans for their service and dedication to the country.

Following a parade through town that included the Summit High School marching band, residents gathered on the Village Green to recognize veterans with a ceremony that included the issuing of an award for the first time ever.

Elwood Cornog Jr., was honored with Summit's first-ever Memorial Day Veteran's Avhievement Award for his many years of volunteer service in Summit and his years of service in World War II.
