Two are dead after more than 80 firefighters struggled to extinguish a three-alarm house fire in Elizabeth Sunday.

Firefighters arrived on the scene shortly after 6 p.m. to find heavy flames bursting out of the second floor of the Fairmount Avenue home, CBS New York reports.

A man and a woman were pulled from the home by firefighters and rushed to Trinitas Hospital where they died from their injuries, according to Eyewitness News.

Two firefighters were also treated for injuries sustained in the blaze. Unable to contain the flames to one house, fire crews worked all night to put out any hot spots.
