Saturday, June 30:

  • SCOTCH PLAINS: Scotch Plains will host its 3rd Independence Day Fireworks at the Scotch Hills Golf Course on Saturday, June 30 (rain date July 1). This year's celebration will feature a performance by The Scotch Plainsmen. Come out early and set down chairs and blankets to take in the show. The fireworks will go off at dusk. Guests should wear comfortable shoes; no heels will be permitted on the golf course. The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA will host a "Red, Y, and Blue" station with fun activities for kids from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Food vendors will be on site throughout the evening. Tuesday, July 3:

  • NEW PROVIDENCE: The New Providence Independence Day Celebration returns to the borough on Tuesday, July 3, on South Street from Gales Drive to Springfield Avenue. The celebration will include fun filled activities for all. DJ John Souren of Club Souren will provide entertainment from his perch on South Street. There will be "Chalk on South" (kids of all ages can get a free "bucket" of chalk to create art and messages on the street) and lots of fun for the whole family. The event begins at 7 p.m. and the fireworks will begin at around 9:30 p.m. Be sure to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Click here for more information.

  • SPRINGFIELD: Springfield's July 4th Celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 4 at 5 p.m. at Meisel Avenue Park. The celebration will include fireworks, food, drinks, petting zoo, pony rides, trackless train, moonwalk and water slide. Live music will also be played by 1910 Fruitgum Co. starting at 8 p.m. Gates open at 5 p.m. with a $5 donation. Click here for more information.
  • SUMMIT: Summit's 71st annual Fourth of July day-long celebration will be held on July 4 from 9:30 a.m. t0 9:45 p.m. at Soldiers Memorial Field at 5 Myrtle Ave. The celebration includes the Children's Decorated Bicycle Parade, the Food Truck Festival, live music, carnival rides, children's entertainment and the Grand Fireworks Display.   • CLARK: Clark's Independence Day Celebration will held on Wednesday, July 4 at the Arthur L. Johnson High School in Clark. The fireworks will be held from 9 to 10 p.m. at the high school's soccer field at 365 Westfield Ave. Click here for more information.
  • CRANFORD: Cranford's Fourth of July Celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 4 beginning at 9 a.m. including a variety of family oriented events mark the day. These include canoe races, the Firecracker Fun Run sponsored by the Cranford Jaycees, games and amusement rides. The day will come to conclusion with a fireworks display in Nomahegan Park at 9:15 p.m. Click here for more information.
