Nearly 60 Bergen County students are using art to promote breast and ovarian cancer awareness.

Paintings by students attending the One River School of Art and Design will be on display at the Garden State Plaza’s Strength and Courage exhibit this month.

The students reside in Englewood, Englewood Cliffs, Teaneck, Fort Lee, Hillsdale, Glen Rock, New Milford, Paramus, and throughout Bergen County.

The exhibit is being presented in partnership with Bright Pink, a national nonprofit that’s focused on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women.

“Our students are thrilled to have a chance to contribute to the cause by sharing their personal art creations,” said Matt Ross, the school’s founder. “They sought to evoke feelings through painting and use emotion as a source.”
