Bergen Mom Dies After She Was Hit By Car On Mother's Day: Reports
Hong Li Chen was killed after she and her daughter were hit by a car while crossing a Tenafly street on Sunday, according to reports.
TENAFLY, NJ — A 39-year-old Tenafly woman is dead after she and her teenage daughter were hit by a car while crossing the street on Mother's Day morning.
The woman has been identified as Hong Li Chen, according to Northjersey.com. Her daughter, 15, was treated for non-life threatening leg injuries at Englewood Health, the publication said.
According to NJ.com, the crash occurred around 7:30 a.m. close to the intersection of Engle Street and Hillside Avenue. An 82-year-old driver had stopped at a stop sign, but struck the mother and daughter as she was trying to turn left, the publication said.

"It's a horrible situation under any circumstance, but it was Mother's Day and it happened very close from where they lived," Tenafly Police Chief Robert Chamberlain told Northjersey.com.
