After opening in 2013, the New Bridge Road market has score high marks with customers with its specialty foods, products and services. At Grand & Essex, you'll find everything from potato kugel to pizza to sushi to "hot from the oven" bakery goods.

The market has also earned a reputation for the quality of its deli and butcher departments, where butchers are available via WhatsApp so customers can communicate directly with them regarding meat orders. Another recent addition includes a smokehouse that offers kosher customers ribs, smoked meats and barbecue.

“Customers travel from all corners of Bergen County just for our fresh Prime USDA American beef and clean poultry,” says Mali Baer, the store’s director of marketing and customer care.

The market also prides itself on community outreach.

“We share in our customers’ life cycles, offering complimentary dinners for families of newborns, dessert platters for family celebrations, or visits and meals to houses of mourning,” Baer said. “We look out for our elderly or ill customers by taking their orders over the phone or by email and driving them home when they bought a little more than they can carry or delivering small orders to their doorsteps.”
