Englewood Cliffs' Christina McHale Loses Opening-Round Match At U.S. Open
McHale lost in three sets to Petra Cetkovska Tuesday.

Christina McHale lost her opening-round match and was eliminated from the U.S. Open Tuesday.
The 23-year-old Englewood Cliffs resident lost to Petra Cetkovska 6-4, 4-6, and 3-6. McHale was seeded No. 96 in the tournament.
It is the third time in her career that McHale has bowed out of the first round of the final tennis major of the year.

McHale’s best Grand Slam year was in 2012 when she got to the third round of the Australian Open, French Open, and Wimbledon. She was ranked No. 24 in the world that year.
McHale. who was born in Teaneck, has won a little more than $2.1 million in her professional tennis career.
