Hackensack Dressbarn Closing Amid Company 'Wind Down'
The store is one of 28 in New Jersey that is shutting down.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The Dressbarn store in the Summit Plaza in Hackensack will close.
The store is one of 28 Dressbarns that parent company Ascena Retail Group Inc. is closing amid a "wind down" of operations, the company announced Monday.
Ascena is closing all 650 Dressbarn stores nationwide. Dressbarn employs about 6,800 people. The company did not specify when stores will begin shutting down.

CFO Steven Taylor called the Dressbarn decision "difficult but necessary" as the stores were "not been operating at an acceptable level of profitability in today's retail environment."

The company said Dressbarn employees will be notified when decisions are made about individual store closures and given "transition support." Dressbarn also said it will continue paying its vendors and suppliers in full for products and services provided during the wind down process.
