Mayor Parker Was A Unifier, Board Of Education Says

Mayor LIzette Parker, 44, died Sunday after being admitted to the hospital with 'respiratory issues,' town officials said.

TEANECK, N.J. — The Board of Education expressed its sympathy at the news of Mayor Lizette Parker's death Sunday.

The Board of Education said in a statement on its website Sunday that Parker was a:

"A diligent public servant who worked tirelessly for our community, including efforts to unite our governing bodies in the pursuit of more efficient government for our township. We will miss her greatly. We extend our sympathies to her family and friends."

Parker, 44, died Sunday after she taken to Holy Name Medical Center with "respiratory issues," said Township Manager William Broughton.

Parker had previously suffered from cancer, NJ.com reported.
