Multiple People Die In Route 3 Crash In Rutherford: Police

RUTHERFORD – Multiple were killed in a New Jersey highway crash on Sunday night, police said.

Route 3 west was shut and traffic was diverted to Route 17 north for an extended period due to an accident with multiple fatalities, Rutherford police said.

The road has since reopened.

The crash happened at 11 p.m. after an SUV smashed into the rear of a construction vehicle on westbound Route 3 in Rutherford, according to ABC7.

The victims were three women, a man and a boy, according to ABC7.

The Bergen County Prosecutors Office and the Rutherford Police Department are investigating the accident.
