Support Continues for Englewood Hot Dog Truck

Support continues to pour in for Rosie and her Weenie Wagon.

Since news broke that the popular hot dog truck can't stay at its regular stop at Nordhoff and Sheffield avenues Rosario "Rosie" D'Rivera has appeared on local TV news segments and at a city council meeting spreading the news of her plight to stay at her location. 

According to a Channel 4 News segment which aired Wednesday, city officials may be trying to find a way to help the food truck owner.

A 35-year old ordinance  bans food trucks from staying at one location for long periods of time requiring them to keep moving along. D'Rivera who has been stationed in the industrial section of town claims she depends on her regular customer base and moving around the city will affect her business, according to the report. 

Mayor Frank Huttle told Channel 4 news the council will revisit the decades-old ordinance to bring it "to the 21st century" and Councilman Eugene Skurnick told the news organization the ordinance should be modified for the industrial section of the city. 

"I can't just lay down and die. I can't have something like this break me," D'Rivera told Fios1 in a news segment. 

The hot dog truck owner continues to communicate with her customers via her Facebook and Twitter pages. According to recent posts she is also launching a campaign to get an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres television show.
