Teaneck Community Chorus Announces Return of Teaneck Idol Competition

The ninth, American Idol-inspired competition is scheduled to take place at Teaneck High School on Saturday, Jan. 16.

The Teaneck Community Chorus has announced its presentation of the ninth Teaneck Teen Idol competition, scheduled to take place at Teaneck High School on Saturday, Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. Fifteen finalists are preparing for this evening, which showcases talented, teen residents. The finalists will be judged by Jackie Kates, who has worked with the competition since its inception, Jeremy Lentz, director of the Teaneck International Film Festival, Chiffon DeLoatch, former Teaneck Teen Idol, and Reggie Bennett, local hip-hop artist and classically trained opera singer. Anthony Johnson of Channel 7 Eyewitness News will be the Emcee. There will also be a special performance by the 2015 Teaneck Teen Idol winner, Kayla Harvey.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $5 for students, available for purchase at the door. An advance-purchase discount is available through the Teaneck Community Chorus website, which also features a complete list of finalists.
