Teaneck's David West Wins 1st NBA Championship
'It's about winning. We set a goal. We worked every single day toward that goal and we won, straight up,' West said.

TEANECK, NJ — For David West, it was never about the money. It was about winning, which he what he did Monday.
The Teaneck native and 14-year veteran got to the pinnacle of his profession Monday night, winning an NBA Championship after the Golden State Warriors beat LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers 129-120. It is West's first championship and the team's second in three years.
"Someone else could have been here, but it's about being a part of a special group, putting together the right type of people, and we did," West said.

West seemed to validate his decision Monday to come to the Warriors this season for less money, about $1.5 million, CBS Sports reported, and have a chance to win a championship.
"Look, you can't take the treasures with you. The Egyptians learned that. You can't bury and take the treasures with you," said West, a tw0-time all-star. "It's about the small things in life, the accomplishments. It's about winning. We set a goal. We worked every single day toward that goal and we won, straight up."
