During a time when many small businesses are struggling, AIM Orthopedics: Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine announced that in June they're doubling their space in order to expand their current physical therapy and sports medicine services. They are also adding new services, including Pelvic and Obstetric Physical Therapy led by Alyssa Kievit, acupuncture by Heather Viccaro Balestrieri and massage therapy. The timing couldn’t be better, with as much as a 30% increase in the number of people seeking help for pandemic-related neck, lower back, shoulder and wrist/hand pain.

Dr. Raffaele Lagonigro, owner of AIM, said that he is “looking forward to having more room to treat patients. But I’m also really excited to partner with Dr. Kievit and Heather. This brings us even closer to fulfilling our mission of helping more people live a pain-free life.”

Dr. Alyssa Kievit focus is on pre- and post-natal services. She shared that she is “so excited to be able to do what I am most passionate about, which is helping pregnant and postpartum women with all of those symptoms that everyone tells them is “normal”. AIM is a leading provider in the area and we are so grateful to be able to partner with them to make women’s health physical therapy accessible to more people.”

Acupuncturist Heather Viccaro Balestrieri has been practicing for nearly two decades. In addition to being fully licensed in NJ and Nationally Board Certified, she is also certified as a Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine. She said that she “looks forward to round out the AIM team, helping people achieve optimal health through integration of all parts of our being -- physical, mental, and spiritual. Just as everyone’s pain is unique, so is their path to wellness which is why I incorporate functional medicine testing, supplementation, nutrition, mindset coaching, therapeutic bodywork, and meditation into my signature acupuncture sessions.”

AIM offers complimentary virtual or in-person assessments in order to evaluate whether their customized, one-to-one treatments will help you get back to doing what you love -- feeling your absolute best. During the month of June, they will be holding free workshops for residents to experience AIM’s services and meet the team. Information can be found on their website.
