Buddhist Foundation Donates Blankets To Cedar Grove Police
Police will give the blankets to victims at emergencies.
CEDAR GROVE, NJ — The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation donated blankets to the police department recently.
Police keep blankets in their vehicles and give them to victims during emergencies like fires and motor vehicle crashes.
The foundation uses the blankets, which are made of recycled plastic bottles, in disaster relief operations throughout the world. It has donated more than 100,000 to blankets to disaster relief victims in 37 countries.

"Although on a much smaller scale here in Cedar Grove, the blankets will provide the same needed relief," said Chief Joseph Cirasa.
The foundation also runs a community food pantry. It is open from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday and the second and fourth Saturday on the month.
