Carvel Plans Major Expansion In NJ, Seeks Cedar Grove and Verona Franchisees
The total initial investment for a full-service Carvel shop ranges from about $250,000 to $380,000, the company says.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Carvel will be rolling out a major expansion initiative across New Jersey and is looking to open 20 additional franchises in the coming years throughout Essex and Hudson County, the company stated Tuesday.
The iconic ice cream brand, which currently operates 51 franchised New Jersey locations, is “looking to attract qualified franchisees across the state,” a company news release stated.
According to Carvel, the company is looking to attract “qualified franchisees” in towns including Hoboken, Jersey City, Union City, Cedar Grove, Millburn, Newark, Verona, West Orange.

The company will host a “Discovery Day” event for interested franchise candidates on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Saddle Brook Marriott at 138 New Pehle Avenue in Saddle Brook from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. To register for the event, click here.
According to a company news release, Carvel “experienced a record increase in same-store sales growth in 2015” and is in the midst of an ongoing roll-out of its new shop design.

“The Carvel that many consumers grew up with now has a more contemporary look with wood-finished floors, vibrant colors, digital menu boards and new brand imagery,” company spokespeople stated. “The new retail layout is designed to enhance the guest experience and spur a new wave of growth for Carvel.”
According to the company, a total initial investment for a full-service Carvel shop ranges from about $250,000 to $380,000 and varies based on location, square footage and equipment package. Full-service Carvel shoppes typically range in size from 800 to 1,600 square feet.
