Cedar Grove High School Gears up For a Busy Holiday Season

The choir, band and orchestra will collectively be performing six times this season, starting Dec. 1.

  • On Monday, December 1, the choir will be singing holiday carols at the annual town Tree Lighting event at 7PM in front of Town Hall.
  • On Friday, December 5 will offer a musical double-header, as members of the CGHS choir will be performing at a fundraiser at St. Agnes Church at 65 Union Avenue in Little Falls from 7-9PM. This event, entitled “ A Christmas Roar,” is being coordinated by Jelani Remy, a CGHS graduate and current star of the Disney Broadway tour of “Lion King,” and his family. The choir will sing selected songs as well as provide vocal backup for Remy. Tickets are available at eventbrite.com.
  • Also on December 5 at 8PM, Cedar Grove HS seniors Jennie Silber (alto saxohone) and Jonathan Hegarty (clarinet), and junior Peter Candia (alto saxophone) will once again participate in the Caldwell Wind Ensemble and Honor Band as part of the annual Caldwell University Christmas Spectacular. Tickets may be purchased by contacting Laura Greenwald at 973-618-3520 or lgreen@caldwell.edu.
  • On Sunday, December 7, the CGHS choir will repeat its annual tradition of caroling at Morgan’s Farm from 2-4PM. The Farm is located off Commerce Road in Cedar Grove, and this event is free and open to the public.
  • On Thursday, December 18 at 7:00 p.m., the CGHS band, orchestra, choir and Select Choir will be performing at the annual Winter Concert at the HS auditorium, located at 90 Rugby Road. The theme of this year’s event is “Holiday Memories,” and favorite baked goods will be available for sale before the show and during intermission. Tickets will be available at the door.
