Cedar Grove National Night Out 2017 Will Unite Community, Cops

This year's event will feature free food, drinks, music, rides, a petting zoo, and pony rides.

From Cedar Grove Police Department: The Cedar Grove Police Department has announced National Night Out 2017 will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 with a rain date of August 2nd. This event, sponsored by the Police Department and the Cedar Grove Municipal Alliance, will be held at Cedar Grove Community Park between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. There will be a shuttle service for residents of The Four Seasons as well as the Cedar Grove Senior Citizens Building starting at 5:45 p.m.

National Night Out (NNO) is an event celebrated in communities throughout the United States on the first Tuesday in August. The Cedar Grove Police Department has chosen to host NNO for several reasons: (1) To heighten crime and drug awareness prevention in the community; (2) To generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs; (3) To strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships; and (4) To send a message to criminals letting them know that our community is organized and fighting back.

This year’s event will feature free food and drinks, music provided by a DJ, special amusements for children, including rides, a children’s petting zoo and pony rides.
