He was 90-years-old.

“Frank J. Vanderstreet, 90, of Cedar Grove, N.J., passed away on November 7, 2015. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. from Shook’s Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Cedar Grove, with interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Montclair, N.J. Visitation will be on Monday, November 9, 2015 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedargrove.com.
“Born in Newark, N.J., Frank proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He was a police officer with the Newark Police Department for thirty years, retiring at the rank of Lieutenant in 1986. He lived most of his life in Newark and Cedar Grove.

“Predeceased by his parents, Francis and Catherine, and his sons, James and John, he was the devoted husband of 67 years to Jean (nee: Burns); loving father of William (Valerie), Richard (Debora), and Barbara; grandfather of Corinne, Brian, Jackie, Pia, John, Frank, and Eric; great-grandfather of Lilly; and brother of Gloria Stehlgens.
“In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Cedar Grove Ambulance and Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 81, Cedar Grove, 07009.”
