Cedar Grove resident Carmine ‘Cuz’ Califano passed away on Sept. 8.
He was 95-years-old.

“Carmine J. Cuz Califano, 95, of Cedar Grove on September 8, 2015.
“Carmine was born in Newark and lived in Bloomfield and Verona before moving to Cedar Grove. He served in the Air Force during W.W. II and was as a clerk for A and P food store in Montclair, Caldwell and Bloomfield for many years.

“He was a member of the North Ward Social Club, the Newark Italian American Association, the Verona Chapter of UNICO National, the Soriano Club of Verona, Dixie’’s A.C. Club of Newark, the Verona Park and Belleville Senior Citizens Club.
“He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marie (Del Russi) Califano and his sister, Angela Califano. Surviving are two sons, Robert Califano and his wife, Alana and Jeffrey Califano and his wife, Eleanor, three grandchildren, Matthew Califano and his wife, Jackie, Allison Bendokas and her husband, John and David Califano, Esq.”
