Verona Church Hosting A Celebration Of Pets Sunday
A family and pet-friendly event in Verona (Oct 6, 1-4 pm)

Four years ago, the Church of the Holy Spirit, 36 Gould Street, Verona began hosting "A Celebration of Pets," in honor of the Feast of St. Francis. This pet-focused event, which is about and for everyone who loves pets, is held in the Verona Town Hall Square (600 Bloomfield Avenue) on the first Sunday of October.
This year, the Celebration will be held on October 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be activities for kids, food, music provided by Automatic Entertainment, pet blessings and a pet parade at 2:30 pm. Costumes are optional for the parade, and prizes will be awarded in several categories.
"This will be our biggest event yet," says Father Jerry, a Verona native who is in his 5th year as Rector at Holy Spirit. "At last count we have over 36 vendors who provide pet-related services and products, animal rescue and adoption groups who will have animals available for adoption and fostering, and organizations such as the Seeing Eye. Included in the activities is a Tiger bounce house, thanks to the generosity of a longtime supporter of this event." We are also grateful to Investors Bank Foundation (www.investorsfoundation.org) which proudly supports this year's event with a generous grant.
