Former Verona Fire Chief Passes Away: Larry Burdett

Verona Fire Department: "He will be missed more than words can explain."

VERONA, NJ — Former Verona Fire Department Chief and long-time member Larry Burdett has passed away, officials said.

On Thursday, the Verona Fire Department announced news of Burdett’s passing on social media.

“It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of ex-chief and long-time member, Larry Burdett, badge #163,” the VFD wrote. “He will be missed more than words can explain and we ask that you keep his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. Information on arrangements will follow when known.”

News of Burdett’s passing inspired several immediate messages of condolence from mourners. Seen online:
