CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Some areas of Essex County got a good coating of snow after the first snow storm of the 2019 winter season hit North Jersey.

The National Weather Service is reporting these snow counts as of Tuesday morning:

  • North Caldwell - 7.4 inches
  • West Orange - 6.5 inches
  • Essex Fells - 6.2 inches
  • Montclair - 5 inches
  • Bloomfield - 4.5 inches
  • Maplewood - 3.6 inches

Even though Essex County didn't get hit too hard, as many as 30,000 are still without power in Morris and Sussex counties.
