Kids Yoga Day Comes To Verona Library

The Verona Library program will include a 30-minute guided yoga class for children, parents and teachers.

Verona, NJ – The Verona Public Library will participate in “Kids Yoga Day” on Friday, April 8.

The mission of Kids Yoga Day is to spread the word about the benefits of yoga to as many children as possible, according to a library news release.

Betty Larrea, local author and New Jersey Ambassador for Kids Yoga Day, will lead the program at the Verona Library, which is slated to start at 11 a.m.

Larrea will lead a 30-minute guided yoga class for children, parents and teachers.

“Kids love doing yoga because it allows them to use their imagination and connect with their bodies and the world,” Larrea said. “When children are given the opportunity to express themselves through yoga and play, they blossom and become aware of their gifts.”

Larrea is the author of “Lucinda’s Magical Yoga Adventure” and founder of Be Yoga Be Love, which provides an interactive yoga and poetry curriculum and training for children and educators. She has been teaching yoga to children for over 15 years.
