Man Stopped From Scoring Drugs With Forged Prescription, Police Say
Cedar Grove Police arrest New York man at CVS Pharmacy.

A New York man was arrested Friday for trying to buy drugs with a fake prescription, Cedar Grove Police said.Â
Thaddeus G. Thurmond, 34, of Springfield Gardens, faces charges for attempting to obtain Phenergan with codeine, a controlled dangerous substance, with a forged prescription at the CVS Pharmacy at 387 Pompton Ave., police said.
Thurmond, who was arrested on Friday at about 3:30 p.m., was also charged with driving with suspended privileges. Police said he also had an outstanding warrant issued by the Lacey Township Court.Â

Thurmond was processed and released after posting bail. Arraignment in Superior Court in Newark is set for Thursday.
