Armed Robbery of Cedar Grove Burger King Under Investigation
Man was wearing a mask and wielding a black handgun, police said.

Cedar Grove police are investigating the late Thursday armed robbery of a Pompton Avenue Burger King.
According to police, an armed man entered the store brandishing a handgun and made his way behind the counter before taking off on foot with an undisclosed sum of money.
According to a release, police were alerted to the robbery shortly before 11 p.m., when a passing motorist reported she had seen a person wearing a mask standing behind the counter holding a handgun.

When police arrived, the robber had already fled the store and was last seen running south on Pompton Avenue. Police said the man entered the building and announced a robbery before demanding an employee open the restaurant's cash registers.
Officers conducted an area search but were not able to find the robber. Cedar Grove detectives also responded and processed the scene for physical evidence and are conducting a follow-up investigation.

No employees was injured during the incident. It was unclear if there were any patrons in the Burger King at the time of the robbery.
