Rash Of Vehicle Burglaries Plague Cedar Grove Residents

Cell phones, a laptop, and money were stolen from the unlocked vehicles, police said.

CEDAR GROVE, NJ — Several items were stolen from unlocked vehicles recently, police said.

Most of the burglaries were reported to police Wednesday morning, authorities said.

Police responded to calls about the burglaries between 12:22 and 10:10 a.m., but mostly between 7 and 8 a.m.

The burglaries occurred on Beverly Road, Essex Road, Franklin Street, and Devonshire Road, police said.

The Devonshire Road burglaries were reported on the morning of Oct. 21 after several vehicles were burglarized, and early Wednesday morning. A cell phone was taken from one of the vehicles.

A laptop was stolen from a backpack inside a vehicle at a Beverly Road home, and money was taken from an Essex Road home, police said. Other vehicles were rummaged through, but nothing was stolen, police said.

Police throughout North Jersey remind residents to remove the keys, valuables, and money from vehicles and lock them overnight.
