Passaic County Sheriff Richard Berdnik and New Jersey Lottery Deputy Executive Director Jerry Guarino joined Clifton Stop & Shop store managers Kelly Dowd and Gus Aiello as the store donated its commission from the sale of a winning Cash5 Lottery ticket. The $2,000 donation will support the Passaic County Sheriff's Department's turkey drive, which benefits residents in need. The $884,000 ticket was sold at the Clifton Stop & Shop located at 160 Kingsland Rd.

"It has been a very exciting two weeks since we sold the lucky Cash5 ticket. While we don't know who our lucky customer is, we wish them our very best," said Aiello. "Stop & Shop is very pleased that the winner's good fortune can help those in need across Passaic County."

Stop & Shop is in the midst of its annual Turkey Express program, which will deliver more than 18,000 turkeys to hunger relief organizations in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island this holiday season.

"I want to thank Stop & Shop for the generous contributions. Every year, the charitable arm of the Sheriff's office donates dozens of turkeys to families in need throughout Passaic County. Today's donation from Stop & Shop and many others will help to assure that families in need get to celebrate and give thanks on Thanksgiving," said Sheriff Berdnik.

"Congratulations to the Clifton Stop & Shop for selling this winning ticket and becoming a lucky Lottery store," said Guarino. "We are excited to have them as a valued partner who extends the benefits of a winning ticket to the community at-large, showing how even those who don't play the Lottery still win."
