Township Of Cedar Grove: Hydrant Flushing

Cedar Grove will conduct its Spring Hydrant Flushing from Monday, May 10, 2021 through Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

The flushing will begin with hydrants in the South End of town and proceed Northwards. Flushing will be done between the hours of 7:00pm-12:00 Midnight.

Because it is difficult to pin point the exact neighborhood where flushing will occur at a given time, residents are advised to bathe or shower before 7:00pm and store sufficient water for their breakfast needs. Residents are also advised not to do laundry for 24 hours after their neighborhood hydrants have been flushed, as the water may discolor clothing.

Discoloration of water can be expected for 24-26 hours after flushing. The discolored water is not harmful, but residents should briefly run their faucets to clear the discolored water.
