Verona Democratic Committee working for Verona

The Verona Democratic Committee held an executive session and announced last night the Verona Democratic District Leaders for 2020. The district leader’s election was dropped from this year’s primary ballot due to COVID-19 and those who intended to run for seats, were appointed and approved by the remainder of the Committee. Re-election will occur in 2021.

The purpose of the District Leader team is to represent the 11 Voting Districts in Verona as the local contact for voter registration, election update and Democratic campaign activity. There are two District Leaders per district. The Verona Democratic Team is led by Laura Fortgang. A full list of District Leaders can be found below.

The Leadership team along with Verona Democrat committee members are working hard to help the Verona community during this current crisis. They have pledged $500 in donations to assist “Food Insecure “ neighbors through gift certificates to local restaurants, grocery store gift cards and direct donations to the Verona Children’s Fund, Church of the Holy Spirit food pantry fund as well as additional donations to the Verona Rescue Squad.

Additionally, the Verona Democratic team encourages Verona High School Seniors to apply to be awarded one of two $500 scholarships. These are awarded through application selection to two VHS students who is pursuing a career or continuing study of Political Science, Public Policy or Government affairs. Details can be found on Naviance. The deadline is May 15th.
