Verona Obituary: Eleanor Dormont, Maplewood Teacher, Delta Sorority Member

Verona, NJ – Essex County resident Eleanor Dormont passed away on March 19.

The following obituary comes courtesy of the Prout Funeral Home:

“Mrs. Eleanor G. Dormont (nee Milligan),100, passed away on March 19, 2016 in Montclair, NJ.

“Born in Newark, Mrs. Dormont was raised in South Orange and resided in Maplewood, New Providence and West Orange prior to moving to Verona in 2013.

“She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Middlebury College and taught English, Latin and French at Maplewood Junior High School where she met her husband, Paul Dormont to whom she was married for 56 years.

“Mrs. Dormont was a lifelong member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority.

“She was the mother of Paul E. Dormont and Dorothy Dormont Ostella (Ralph) and grandmother of Steven P. Ostella.

“In lieu of flowers, donations to PAWS Montclair, Inc., PO Box 149, Montclair, NJ 07042 or American Legion Post 433, PO Box 712, New Providence, NJ 07974 would be appreciated.”
