Verona Obituary: Michael Friel

Roseland resident Michael Friel passed away on Nov. 7.

He was 57-years-old.

“Michael Friel, 57, of Roseland, N.J., passed away on November 7, 2015.

“Born in Kearny, N.J., he lived in Cedar Grove before settling in Roseland 22 years ago. He was co-owner and operator of Friel Brothers Paving Company, Verona, N.J. Mike was an avid boater, and was fascinated by anything with a motor. He loved the Jersey Shore, and was an all-around good guy who enjoyed life. He was loved by all and will be sadly missed.

“Predeceased by his father, Joseph, and his sister, Jo Ann Cecire, he is survived by his wife of 26 years, Cecilia Friel; his mother, Ina; his siblings, John Friel and Suzanne Foster; his nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Kristen, T.J., John, Sean, Madison; three step-children; six step-grandchildren; aunt, Isabel Livingstone; and his 4-legged companion, Little Miss.

“In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, cancer.org, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, cff.org.”
