Verona Weather: No Garbage Pickup, Street Parking Due To Snow Forecast

VERONA, NJ — Hold onto that trash, Verona. According to a news release from the township, municipal officials are suspending trash and recycling pickup on Tuesday morning and street parking starting Monday evening.

Municipal officials issued the following advisory on Monday morning:

“Due to the impending snowstorm… there will be no trash or recycling pick up [Tuesday] morning. Please do not put your trash or recycling out. All items will be picked up on your next regularly scheduled collection day. There will be no on street parking allowed tonight and throughout the cleanup process of the storm.”

According to municipal officials, residents can use Municipal Lot 1 located on Park Place, behind Terry’s Drugs if they have no other option to park.

“Vehicles left on the roadway will be ticketed and towed,” Verona police stated.

Residents were reminded that it is against local ordinance to throw snow into the roadway at any time. Summones will be issued for violations, police stated.

Residents who experience a power failure should contact PSE&G, not the police department, authorities said.
