Wallet Thief Caught in Act — Verona-Cedar Grove Patch Video of the Year
Watch this stunning video and you'll never leave your purse unattended again.
It only takes a second to become a victim of a robbery.
That's what we learned this August when we watched the stunning surveillance video above of thief snatch a wallet from a woman's purse while she was distracted at the deli counter of a Cedar Grove supermarket.
The Cedar Grove Police Department released the video along with still shots from the Foodtown on Pompton Avenue and asked for the public's help in identifying the crook.
A number of callers gave police the name of Jason A. Marx, 35, of Roseland, who eventually turned himself in without incident, according to Chief Richard Vanderstreet.
Marx was wanted in connection with a similar incident in West Caldwell.
Share this video with friends and family to show them how quickly we can become victims of a crime. We bet they won't be leaving their belongings unattended in 2014!
