WATCH: Verona Native Lands Spot On 'The Voice'

He’s the new voice in Essex County.

On Tuesday, Joe Vivona – a West Caldwell resident and Verona native - made it through the Blind Auditions for NBC’s “The Voice” and landed on Team Pharrell.

Vivona, 27, didn’t start singing until he was 15 when he performed at his sister’s 16th birthday party, according to a news release from NBC Entertainment.

“With his newfound passion for singing, [Vivona] worked his way to earning a degree in audio engineering and worked in a studio where he was able to pick up occasional session work,” NBC stated. “Joe currently works as an office manager for his family’s business, Amusements of America - the world’s largest traveling Amusement Park – and travels up and down the east coast with the traveling amusement park and picks up open mic gigs whenever he can.”
