Woman Dies in Essex Fells House Fire

A woman was killed in an early-morning fire Sunday in Essex Fells.

Essex Fells Police and fire units responded to the Fells Road home at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday. First responders found the woman inside the residence and administered first aid before she was transported to Mountainside Hospital, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said.

The woman, whose identity has not been immediately released, died at the hospital at 4:06 a.m. Sunday, the prosecutor’s office said.

The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Arson Task Force is investigating the cause of the fire.
