82 Percent Of Warren Seniors Are Fully Vaccinated Against COVID

But Warren still has work to do in order to get 70 percent of adults fully vaccinated, in line with state goals.

WARREN, NJ — A large group of Warren's seniors are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. But Warren still has work to do in order to get 70 percent of adults fully vaccinated, in line with state goals.

For the first time Monday, the New Jersey Department of Health released town-level data on COVID-19 vaccinations. The state's COVID-19 dashboard now reveals the percentage of all people, adults and seniors who have been partially or fully vaccinated in each city and town.

Here's the data in Warren Township:

  • Warren population with at least one dose: 58 percent of all ages, 73 percent of adults (18 and older) and 91 percent of seniors (65 and older).
  • Warren population fully vaccinated: 47 percent of all ages, 59 percent of adults and 82 percent of seniors.

New Jersey set a goal to fully vaccinate 70 percent of adults — 4.7 million people — by the end of June. About 3.6 million people in New Jersey have been fully vaccinated as of Monday afternoon.

All people 16 and older are eligible for vaccination in New Jersey. Sixteen- and 17-year-olds remain eligible for only the Pfizer vaccine. Somerset County recently eliminated the need for appointments for all of its clinics including drive-thru, walk-in, and mobile COVID vaccination clinics. Children ages 12-15 may soon become eligible for a vaccination against COVID-19. The Food and Drug Administration could potentially grant emergency use of the Pfizer shots for the age range this week.
