AIR QUALITY ALERT: How Hot, Sticky Will It Get In Warren Today?

It’s going to be another hot day in Somerset County, with temperatures in the 90s and a heat index even higher because of the humidity.

That is going to make the air quality a bit difficult for those who have breathing issues, the National Weather Service warns in an air quality alert issued Monday morning.

The air quality alert is set to remain in effect through midnight Monday, forecasters say.

The high temperature is expected to hit 90 degrees by noon with a heat index of 97, with temperatures lingering near 70 degrees most of the night. The humidity is expected to temper somewhat Monday, dropping to about 38 percent, before rising Tuesday.

Tuesday will be even hotter, with the heat index passing 90 degrees by noon hitting a high of 94 by 2 p.m.

Ozone levels are expected to hit 110 in Somerset County Monday, according to the forecast at www.airnow.gov.
